a little book of prose-poetry ... 72

Pray, do wish me well:
It’s opening day
For the codfish run,
A welcoming day
‘Neath a late winter sun.
With the lake now free
Of winter ice, the water
As cold as can be,
All’s well — it’s nature’s way,
Though I know in my heart
’Tis God; He alone
Who is the Way.
