a little book of prose-poetry ... 71

As I stand before you
Just being me
I pray that this,
More than anything,
Is what you see.
The song I’m singing,
As though from above,
Is my soulful plea:
My heartfelt cry,
To all God’s children;
We who are one,
To know deep within
His joyful love.

a little book of prose-poetry ... 70

I’m on my way,
I know not where,
Thoughts adrift
In the summer air.
The garden swing
Awaits me — yes!
That is how
I’ll start my day,
There, midst nature’s
Peaceful sighs,
What better way
To start the day.
There, alone with God,
I’ll give thanks
And quietly pray.

a little book of prose-poetry ... 69

’Tis my friend
About to marry;
I’m the bridesmaid,
Not the bride,
Though I too
Will feel a princess
While standing
By her side.
In your presence,
Dear God,
I ask and I pray
Your blessings to bestow
On we, your loving children;
Blessings only you can know.

a little book of prose-poetry ... 68

Seated quite happily
In my favourite chair
You see me,
Though my thoughts
Aren’t there.
I’m thinking of God
From my true inner Being,
And yes,
Of His goodness and love:
Would it were this
You are seeing.

a little book of prose-poetry ... 67

There may be a few
With the age-old view
That candy is bad
For the tummy.
Personally,
I find it quite yummy.
If I may be so bold
We’re never too old
To enjoy a bit of confection.
A sweet now and then
Will not go amiss,
Like someone you love
Blowing a kiss.
I like to think, dear God,
Your thoughts are mine:
I pray what I’ve said
Is perfectly fine.
